About me

We were very healthy growing up – lunch boxes were full of nut butter, rice cakes and apples, meals were all homemade and we had lots of vegetables and brown everything!

By the time I was in my 20’s however and had moved to University in Sussex, my health took a bit of a nose dive towards the unhealthy. Late nights, poor food choices and plenty of partying made me feel run down and by the time I had small children in my early 30’s, my immune system was pushed to the limit, my hormones were all over the place and I felt exhausted and always ill.
I knew I had to make some changes.

As a trained landscape gardener on the Suffolk coast, I got into growing vegetables and then cooking them, so I slowly began to create more nutritious meals, and loved it. I started running and looking after myself and then came across an inspirational cookbook in the library (Amelia Freer, thank you!) and discovered the Institute for Optimum Nutrition (ION). I knew that I had found my calling.

A diploma and 4 years later, here I am, feeling totally different. I have vibrant energy (mostly!), my hormones are more balanced, I no longer spend the winter with back to back bronchitis and sinus infections. I’ve been blown away by how nutrition and lifestyle can affect our health in so many ways, making us more resilient and allowing us to more effectively face health challenges now and as we get older.

Here in 2020, it is more important than ever to look at our health, to nourish our innate strength and connect with how we are feeling. Balance is difficult to come by but with a little hard work and know how, reaping the benefits of better health really is achievable. My mission is to help you to flourish and glow, to empower you to make the choices that will nourish and support you for a happier, healthier life.
